In this modern age where people get to meet a lot of people through social media, it’s easy for anyone to find someone they want to love for the rest of their lives. However, Jeff Gebhart, a 47-year-old Kansas-based businessman, is tired of traditional dating. He even hates using online dating services. Thus, he thought of something special: launching a website called “Date Jeff G” and rewarding anyone with $25,000 if they can find him a girlfriend.
“I’m single, and I don’t want to go back to the normal, app-based dating stuff,” Gebhart said in the welcome video on his website.

In his profile, Gebhart described himself as 5 feet and 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, and with a 9% BMI (body mass index). The businessman revealed that he is childless and has never been married. “I’ve run with the bulls in Spain, jumped out of a few airplanes and have been known to snowboard wearing my pink bunny costume,” he added.
While this sounds simple to do, Gebhart has several instructions for anyone interested in participating -- making it clear that he isn’t simply giving the money away. First, the suggested match and Gebhart should date for 365 consecutive days for the matchmaker to receive any money, which means he/she doesn’t get the financial prize upfront. He also said that the matchmaker would receive the money in five annual installments of $5,000. Thus, the matchmaker would not receive any more money than what they have already earned.

On his website, Gebhart stated that he wants his girlfriend to be funny and share his values and positive attitude. She also needs to love dogs, particularly his pet canine, Gunner. “I don’t need a person to ‘complete’ me, but I’m looking for a person with qualities that will allow us to complement each other. I’d like to find someone who is fun, easy to spend time with, someone who is confident, driven, shares the same interests as I and has a zest for life,” the entrepreneur said on the website.

According to Oddity Central, an online site that features bizarre events, unique travel destinations, weird inventions, freaky characters, odd art, and many more, women who are hoping to be Gebhart’s girlfriend have to know a few things too. First, they are not eligible for the prize when they nominate themselves. They have to sign up through the website for the chance to be selected. They also need to complete an online survey developed by a clinical psychiatrist, allowing Gebhart to sift through the candidates before meeting them or even seeing photos of them.
