Many people may have been ostracizing Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry about their split from the royal family but even Hollywood elites said they support the couple’s decision to step away from the royal family.
According to Express UK, such support was extended by Hollywood elite herself Oprah, who told TMZ that she supports the couple “1,000 percent.” Oprah said she believed that it was something that has been discussed for months and that the couple’s eventual decision was actually hinted at early on.
“And when Harry said in that charity statement the other day [that] he had to make the decision to move forward in peace with his new family, who doesn’t feel what that takes to make that decision to give up everything you’ve known your whole life to say, I’m going to choose this new life or what I believe to be the truest version of myself?” Oprah said.
Gayle King, who was there during Meghan’s baby shower in New York last year, also said that the Queen was being “unfair” for broadcasting that she was caught off-guard by the couple’s announcement when it was already a known fact that the Queen had known of the arrangements for months.
The Queen even released a statement that was very supportive of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The statement read:
“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much loved members of my family…
“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
In their new life, Express UK reports that the couple will no longer be using their HRH titles but will still keep them. They will also be repaying the Sovereign Grant “for expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which they will keep as their UK family home.”
