Dad’s Hilarious Takeover of Daughter’s Social Media Goes Viral

Different parents have different parenting styles, and this father’s particular parenting style was such a hit with the masses that he became viral in no time. Meet the dad who took over her daughter’s social media after he caught her trying to “sneak boys into a sleep-over.”

According to a report by My Modern Met, a website promoting positive culture through thought-provoking articles on art, design, photography, architecture, technology, and other topics, 15-year-old Madelynn Sumpter was given her choice of punishment.

Her choices were to either be grounded for a month or for just two weeks but with her parents having control over her social media. Madelynn made her choice, bravely venturing into the unknown and letting her father have control over her social media.

Madelynn must have thought her parents were bluffing, but when hilarious photos and videos of her father popped up on her Instagram and TikTok, it became clear that this dad was going to milk this punishment for all it's worth.

My Modern Met reported that her dad would even pose “in wigs and different outfits,” as well as add captions that scream Gen Z on social media, like “Felt cute. Might delete later,” which garnered about 6,500 likes and a lot of comments.

One post even had Madelynn’s father rubbing his chin and looking far away as if in thought, accompanied by a caption that read:

“I wonder what Maddi is doing without her phone.”

Eventually, the takeover ended and Madelynn, after two weeks, was able to get her phone back. In her return post, she put up a throwback pic of her as a toddler and talked about coming back “sweeter” and being “ready to make good choices.”

Since the takeover, Maddi can thank her father for bringing her follower count up from 3,000 to 15,000, although some followers still comment for Maddi to “bring dad back.”
