The Bible serves as an inspiration to those who believe in it. Many find that it acts as a source of comfort to read at least one verse at night, especially if one is going through a difficult time in their life. However, many young people also believe that reading the Bible is quite a boring thing to do because of its old words and preachy verses. Now, a new video game inspired by the events in the Bible might change their minds.
Business Insider, an American financial and business news website, reported that the video game called ‘I Am Jesus Christ’ will be coming soon on Steam. The game’s trailer has already garnered interest online because of its controversial subject matter and enticingly bizarre cutscenes. In the trailer, the player is seen conjuring some fish, depleting a bar that correlates to Jesus’ holy abilities, while there is another scene that shows Jesus as he is being nailed to a cross.
The release of this video game goes to show that gamers can be holy, too. Aside from that, it is the perfect game to celebrate Christmas time as the player can “follow the same path of Jesus Christ.” The trailer for the biblical video game was released only recently. The Daily Mail UK, a British daily middle-market newspaper, reported on their website that ‘I Am Jesus Christ’ pegs itself as a ‘realistic simulator game’ based on the lessons and events featured in the New Testament of the Bible.
About 'I Am Jesus Christ'
Video games inspired by Christianity and Catholicism aren't anything new. Devout parents have been desperate to keep the devil at bay, keeping their children safe as they encourage them to play games such as Bible Adventures, Dance Praise, and dozens of other off-brand, Bible-friendly Mario wannabes. However, the moment the trailer for the upcoming video game called 'I Am Jesus' came out, the gaming industry immediately found it interesting and compelling.
The AV Club, an online newspaper and entertainment website, reported that extremely religious games rarely exist because gaming companies and its creators are afraid to be accused of blasphemy. 'I Am Jesus Christ' features scenes where the player has big, white hands that can cure the blind, calm storms, and mak fish appear in a basket.
It also has an epic battle which will enable the user to have a real fight with Satan in the desert. Satan isn't the only villain in the game; the gamers can exorcise demons from the NPC as well. The video clip ends with Jesus exiting his tomb following the resurrection, which is seemingly the last part of the game. Also, in a very Christian way, the game will end with a description that reads ‘Pray like Him to get your Holy Spirit’s power and help people around you,’ and ‘Fight with evil, make miracles, resurrect dead, feel and act like Him.’

Other Christian video games
In the current age of video games, there is much guts, gore, and explicit graphics. The more it contains censored content, the more it attracts players. But, if you are tired of seeing blood and violence in front of you, you can look for more wholesome video games with the right messages.
Thomas Bean, CEO of Digital Praise, said, “It is difficult to find appropriate games. And even those that are rated E for everyone may not be appropriate for children.” These Christian games promote Christian values, which leave parents worry-free about the games having questionable content.
'Eternal War: Shadows of Light'
According to CBN, a television station, the game called 'Eternal War: Shadows of Light' was created by XrucifiX. It is an action-packed game without the guts and gore of a first-person shooter. This game allows the players to be in the spiritual warfare of Michael the angel as he goes into the mind of John Coronado to battle the inner demons that plague him.
The angel Michael is the game’s protagonist called Mike. He is endowed with holy powers, and Mike’s journey will span 17 levels. It can be completed in single-player mode or co-op with other players. There is also another game mode called Flood, which involves fending off waves of demons and sealing the gates through which they come.
Moby Games, the oldest, largest, and most accurate video game database, explained that the game has a setting that has strong medieval fantasy motives. There are also other eight weapons at the player’s disposal from the player’s medieval arsenal such as a dagger, crossbow, and sword.
Created by Digital Praise, Inc., the game 'Dance Praise' fuses the fun of a high-energy dancing game with the positive lyrics of Christian music. The game also has four different modes of gameplay, and it is perfect for players who love playing Dance Dance Revolution. It has over 50 Christian songs to choose from coming from rock, rap, hip-hop, techno, and other genres.
