Seniors At Retirement Home Hold Annual “Thriller” Dance

An old home has gone viral after photos and videos of seniors covered in green and gray make-up dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” circulated the internet.

According to Metro UK, the elderly group are from the Abbington Senior Living Mapleton in Utah, and viewers applauded the dedication the seniors had for the routine, commenting positively on the effort in terms of make-up and the dancing, the latter which, while mostly being done in a chair, was still very spot on.

They even committed to the performance by serving face in front of the camera as well, making faces at it just like in the unforgettable music video. One of the seniors donned a red jacket nearly synonymous to Michael Jackson’s look in “Thriller.” The man also wore a curly black-haired wig, and put his all in the performance as well.

The spokesperson for the event said that the “Thriller” performance was something that the seniors at the home did often. In fact, many of the seniors find excitement while waiting for the performance, as shared by Lynae Peacock Malchus, whose mother-in-law was excited about it as well.

Malchus said that his mother-in-law, along with many others, always feel excitement when the performance comes up. Nicole Wright’s uncle’s stepmother was even part of the performance, who she said was smiling the entire time.

The video was released on Facebook and has now been shared 200,000 times.

The video has also reached other people who work as caregivers for seniors, with one of them commenting on how happy the elders seem to be and how fun their performance looked, not just to them but also to the people seeing it.

Others commented on the costumes and even the dance moves, being overall supportive of the seniors’ hard work and talent. They may have just been in chairs for the better part of the dance, but they are still amazing.
