Woman Wears Layers Of Clothes To Prevent Paying Extra Fee at Airport

If you think that traveling regularly can spare someone from committing mistakes such as overpacking, think again.

Sometimes, we find ourselves putting a lot of clothes into our luggage even though the trip is just for a day or two. This usually leads to overpacking and paying an extra fee at the airport. This is why one must think clearly when preparing for a trip and decide on the number of items they actually need for their trip.

Let’s face it. The amount for excess baggage is only affordable for those who are rich and capable of paying it. But, in an article published by LadBible, a website that publishes viral news worldwide, they shared that a passenger tried to outsmart this situation by wearing layers of clothes to avoid paying extra fees.

A woman named Gel Rodriguez from the Philippines was reported to have 9kg of luggage. Unfortunately, she needed to lose 2kg of her clothes to avoid paying an extra fee at the airport.

The clever Filipina decided to remove the heaviest clothes from her luggage and wear them all. These items included her jackets, shirts, and trousers. After she wore them, she reportedly successfully shed 2.5kg of weight from her luggage.

To celebrate her victorious attempt, Rodriguez posted a photo of herself wearing all of her clothes on Facebook with the hashtag #ExcessBaggageChallengeAccepted. Her post went viral after it garnered 33,000 likes and 20,000 shares on the social media site.

“I didn’t want to pay the fee for the excess baggage because it was only two kilograms. If I had known it would go viral, I would have posed better,” she said in an interview.

So, the next time you plan a trip, make sure that you pack your items right to avoid paying an extra fee or end up wearing extra layers of clothes.
