Woman Faints On TV After Hairdresser Chops Off 12 Inches of Hair Without Telling Her

Model Ilayda was known for her “relatable” reaction when she collapsed on TV after hairdresser Bilal Ağın cut off 12 inches of her hair without warning, reports Luke Matthews of British newspaper Mirror. The Turkish show Kuaförüm Sensin (You’re My Hairdresser) is a reality contest involving makeup artists and hairstylists to demonstrate their skills.

In one of the show's episodes, Bilal wanted to trim Ilayda’s hair in support of the “Let My Hair Be Your Project” project for cancer survivors. His intention was indeed thoughtful. Unfortunately, the hairdresser did not ask Ilayda if she was on board with the idea. Ilayda came into the show with her back-length hair, only to be reduced to a shoulder-length cut by Bilal, according to Freya Dohan of British middle-market newspaper Daily Mail.

Bilal clutched his model’s tresses while Ilayda ran her hand through her hair— and the harsh reality sunk in after a few brushes, settling her hand to where her hair ends. Upon learning about her new “haircut,” she broke down and judges at the show were stunned by Ilayda’s reaction. Other contestants pretended not to see the whole situation unfold, albeit unconvincingly. Ilayda flung her robe as Bilal flashed an awkward smile at the floor.

She then attempted to flee to the exit, but she did not reach the door. At that moment, Ilayda fainted into one of the show’s assistant’s arms, who called for help. Meanwhile, Bilal, with his hands perched on his hips, watched silently. The clip amassed more than 12 million views on Twitter with the caption: “I'm SCREAMINNN why is that so relatable." Many users related with Ilayda’s ordeal.

One wrote, “Did you see how long that hair was? She's going to need counselling for that trauma." Another said that “this is exactly what you get” when one asks to trim the ends. A third user asserted, “I see a lot of y'all saying she's being over dramatic but if the back story is she just wanted a trim that level of emotion is totally justifiable. He dead wrong.”
